Title: Germany: eurozone crisis causes Ford to appeal to short-time working
Memo:
With sales dropping in France, Spain and Italy, the American carmaker Ford announced, on April 24, that 4,000 employees from its main production site in Cologne, Germany, where 17,000 work, would now be on short-time working. These measures might be extended depending on how the crisis evolves. Also shaken by the eurozone crisis, Opel has reduced production as well, yet without appealing to short-time working.
