Quick Guidance
The Statistics subpage of the ETUI’s European Works Councils Database (EWCdb) provides automatically generated, live charts that visualize the up-to-date population of European Works Councils (EWCs) and SE Works Councils captured in the database. It displays headline totals (active bodies, historical formations, etc.) and lets users explore the underlying agreements and documents that define each EWC/SE-WC, drawing on thousands of records covering multinational companies across Europe. Because the figures are fed directly from the continuously maintained EWCdb, counts and breakdowns update as new data are added or revised, giving researchers, practitioners, and policymakers a quick evidence snapshot.
Interacting with the Dashboards
Choose a slice of the data: Use the drop‑down menus in the grey boxes (top‑right corner). Each menu controls one dimension (e.g. Council type, Sector, Company HQ country, Agreement year). Click to open, then click a value to apply it or search for a specific parameter.
Combine filters: Apply more than one drop‑down-filter is additive, so only records meeting all selected criteria are counted. Active filters appear as badges beneath the charts.
Explore exact figures: Hover over any bar, line point or pie segment; a tooltip shows the precise number of councils and the percentage share.
Downloading Figures
The Export ⬇︎ button (bottom‑right corner) lets you save the current, filtered view as PDF document. The page URL also stores your filter settings – copy it to share the same view with colleagues.
Viewing Full Screen or Present Mode:
If the dashboard does not render well in full-screen mode (e.g. on ultra-wide monitors or mobile devices), you can:
- Click on the “Looker Studio” link (bottom-right of each dashboard),
- On the Looker Studio page, select the three dots (top-right) for "more options",
- Then select “Present” for an optimal viewing experience.
How to Cite the Statistics
