(Brussels, 5 June 2008) The following issues were on the agenda:
- Preparation of the agenda of the preparatory plenary meeting of the EWC, 18 June (Paris). Amongst others there will be a presentation on the merger by the experts of Secafi, a presentation by the experts of Syndex on the implications for the merger in the (energy) services area (SES Cofatech)
- Update on the merger. The bureau considered the importance of preparation for discussions in particular with regard to the EWC. It decided to request SECAFI to make an overview of how the EWC has functioned, results achieved etc. This will be on the agenda of 18 June. A major discussion will be around the branch/ sectoral committees (water, energy, waste) and the different work groups (GPEC, training, diversity, health and safety...) Colleagues also considered the sale of Distrigas to ENI and the new assets obtained by Suez.
- Different agreements were discussed such as those on profit sharing and forward looking management of employment and competences (GPEC)
- The bureau discussed two letters recently sent to management of Suez regarding the lack of information and consultation with regard to developments in Suez Environment.
It discussed the above issues with a representative of management in the afternoon.
