For a number of years unions have been considering the establishment of European Works Councils in Spanish companies. Despite a high number of Spanish multinational companies there are very few that have an EWC. EPSU and the European Federation of Building and Woodworkers brought together unions organizing workers in several Spanish companies with activities in construction, water and waste: FCC (Aqualia), ACS and Ferrovial. The unions explored the possibilities and roadmap to establish coordination. EPSU Deputy General Secretary was present. The meeting took place 19 October 2010, Madrid.
