Striking a deal on Fiat's national collective agreement by Christmas. That's the aim of the negotiations opened yesterday, November 29, in Turin, between the group and unions. The Fiom's leader, who called for a general metalworkers' strike for December 16 the day before, left the negotiating table, criticizing the way Fiat was handling employees protests. Indeed, after the doors were closed to the gathering of independent unions who wanted to take part in the negotiation, most Fiom delegates were unable to attend the negotiating session. (Ref. 110738)
