Before the collective negotiations start in banking on March 1, the Verdi services union presented its financial claims on January 18. It is calling for a 6 percent wage increase for the 220,000 people working in public and private banks in Germany and an agreement over 12 months. Besides, the union is asking for employers' permanent commitment to implement the measures adopted in the last banking collective agreement, aimed to improve employees' working conditions.
