On December 30, the International Union of Food Workers (IUF) reached an agreement with the British mass catering company, Compass, solving the dispute with Eurest Algeria workers. The agreement grants workers the freedom of association and provides that laid off workers will be rehired. It is the result of a mediation procedure implemented within the framework of a complaint the IUF filed with the British OECD for the application of guidelines for multinational enterprises.
