The European Metalworkers' Federation (EMF) and Alstom management have already signed European agreements concerning social guarantees within the framework of an operation likely to have an impact on employment. In a new agreement dated January 16, the signing parties formalized the commitments made by the management as regards the employment and working conditions of European employees after the creation of a joint venture on Boilers for coal fired power plants with Shanghai Electric, the Chinese company.
