While speculation has been at its height for about a week as regards the possibility of two plant closures, one in Bochum, Germany, and the other in Ellesmere Port, UK, Opel's EWC members sent the management of the heavily indebted carmaker a joint declaration rejecting all negotiations at local level. Their aim is to keep the sites from being set against each other and to oppose the new financial claims of the American parent company, General Motors, together. (Ref. 120198)
