In a highly anticipated decree, the Frankfurt Labor Court rejected, on March 27, the request for damages introduced by four airlines against the small airline security union, GdF (Gewerkschaft der Flugsicherung) after the air traffic controllers from the Stuttgart airport went on a solidarity strike in 2009. This decree is undeniably a victory for the corporatist union and is a new step in the old debate on the need to restore "tariff unity" (one company, one collective agreement) in businesses.
