The European social partners had until March 30 to respond to the public consultation opened by the Green Paper on anticipating change and restructuring the European Commission adopted on January 17. In its response, the ETUC is calling for a legal framework on the subject and explains what it is expecting from a European initiative. On the contrary, BusinessEurope sees no need for Community intervention on restructurings, as the anticipation of change is a matter for heads of businesses and restructurings for local players.
