On December 16, 2011, the Italian power company renewed its EWC agreement. Since the initial agreement was signed in December 2008 - after the negotiators knew about the new provisions of Directive 2009/38 Recast - the key novelties were already included. With the renewal, the social partners introduced other aspects of the recast directive, such as a broad definition of transnationality or even elements on the link between the different levels of employee representation.
