Carrefour's management in Colombia signed its first wage agreement with the brand new UTCC union (Union de Trabajadores y Trabajadoras Carrefour Colombia), the creation of which received the support of the management and of the UNI international union federation. This is quite rare in a country which holds the unfortunate record number of union members killed. The agreement grants fringe benefits and lays down the foundation for regular social dialogue.
