Today, May 15, is a pivotal day for sectoral collective agreements. Indeed, on this day, a great deal of existing collective agreements will stop producing all their effects as regards pay. This is the result of the measure adopted last February which provides that employers subject to sectoral collective agreements which have not been renewed three months after expiry can simply apply basic remuneration provided for in the agreement, which will lead to new pay cuts for thousands of employees in the private sector.
