In a joint statement released on May 10, the CEEMET (metal), the ECEG (chemistry) and EURATEX (textile) answered the consultation on restructurings launched by the European Commission in January. They believe that the diversity of restructuring operations is making it hard to anticipate change at European level. However, they are calling for framework conditions to make possible for companies to deal with both crisis-induced restructuring scenarios and restructuring scenarios prompted by strategic considerations.(Ref. 120318)
