In spite of a tight schedule, on May 16, the 200 organizations affiliated with the three European trade union federations - the European Mine, Chemical and Energy Workers' Federation (EMCEF), European Metalworkers' Federation (EMF), and the European Trade Union Federation for Textiles, Clothing, Leather and Footwear (ETUF-TCL) - dissolved and formally merged to become a new union federation IndustriALL-European Trade Union, and getting a first roadmap to take on current challenges. A new name, a new logo, a joint political project in the industry (most of it anyway) - promoting industrial policy taking workers' point of view into consideration - and already a first joint initiative: a day of mobilization.
