The subsidiary of Volkswagen Group Italia (VGI) in charge of selling vehicles and spare parts for the German carmaker signed an innovative agreement with the trade unions on the basis of the Charter signed by the group, the International Metalworkers' Federation (IMF) and the European and world works council. The agreement provides for a personnel policy focused on the involvement of workers. The two unions that signed the Italian company agreement, CGIL and Cisl, unanimously recognize the major innovation this agreement brings to the sphere of company agreements as it is a step towards introducing joint management. Based in Verona, VGI employs nearly 1,000 people and applies the national trade collective agreement. (Ref. 120366)
