On May 4, Assicurazioni Generali, the Italian insurer, renewed its EWC agreement, which affects about 63,000 people in 17 European countries. The key novelty is the introduction of the principles of Directive 2009/38, even though it still has not been transposed in Italy. The new agreement improves information and consultation prerogatives, even though they are mostly at the hands of the select committee. This agreement was adopted in the middle of a controversy: the Italian delegation took part in the vote as a sign of protest, judging that Italy is not represented enough. (Ref. 120396)
