Deutsche Bahn, which still aims to recruit nearly 75,000 people in the ten years to come, is welcoming this year 4,000 apprentices chosen from 54,000 applicants. However, DB's HRD believes that recruitment could be much more complicated in the future. That's why it wants to improve its name as an employer and extend its "recruitment pool." To that end, the company has decided to launch, in the fall 2013, a "part-time apprenticeship" system reserved for young single parents. While welcoming this project, unions also pointed its weaknesses out. (Ref. 120506)
