On June 27, Unilever presented the new company agreement signed by the management and the central WC on February 15, 2012. with this agreement on demography, which will affect employees in Germany, Switzerland and Austria (7,000 people total), the Anglo Dutch multinational is permanently acknowledging ageing and the need to focus personnel management on the demographic factor. The point is to organize the renewal and training of staff, guarantee the transfer of knowledge between the different generations of employees and to adapt the framework and pace of work to the employees' age. While the first step towards a global strategy has been made, achieving the agreement's objectives also implies gradually spreading a "demographic culture" through management structures. Michael Jaeger, director of social relations at Unilever Deutschland, and Hermann Soggeberg, chairman of Unilever Deutschland's central WC and of Unilever's EWC, who both negotiated and signed the agreement, accepted to talk about their experience with Planet Labor.
