For the first time, Swedish unions - Unionen (private sector workers) and Handels (retail employees) - publicly called on IKEA Group to take action in its Turkish subsidiary, accused of violating union freedom. This is a new way of lobbying the group into signing an international framework agreement in a highly symbolic place since IKEA started building an international union coordination in Istanbul in March.
