On November 1, two collective agreements came into force, introducing for the first time a "system of sectoral bonuses" in the metal and chemical industries. Four days later, two similar agreements were signed between the IG-Metall and BAP an iGZ, the two key temporary employers' organizations. This time, they cover agency workers employed in the textile and clothing and wood and plastic industries. The BAP employers' organization said employers have met the government's goals: singing agreements introducing equal pay between temporary and permanent workers in "all the sectors" with the trade unions. However, whereas negotiations for similar agreements are still stuck in other sectors, unions are far from sharing this view and are still calling for an Equal Pay Act. (Ref. 120651)
