Renault management and the three majority unions - UGT, Workers' Commissions (CCOO) and the Confederation of Managers and Professionals (CCP) - signed an agreement which should lead, on Tuesday, November 13, to the signing of a Social Pact to go with Renault's future industrial plan for its Spanish sites. This agreement aims to improve these sites' competitiveness via greater workforce flexibility, higher annual working time and tighter wage costs. Management said it was vital for the Spanish sites to remain competitive compared with the Romanian and Turkish sites at a time when the French carmaker is about to decide where to establish its new projects.
