The RMT transport union has organised coordinated action at seven major transport cleaning contractors as part of its national campaign aimed at securing what it terms 'workplace justice'. The strikes, all for 48 hours over Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, will take place at three ISS contracts (London Midland, East Coast mainline, London Underground), two Carlisle Cleaning contracts (Transpennine Express, London Dockland Light Railway), one Churchill contract (Newcastle Metro Tyne and Wear underground) and one Initial contract (London Underground). Since its actions are less detrimental as they do not affect transports, the IWGB, the other union organizing these workers, is doing like Australian and American unions, which target clients to get to the contractors.
