On May 30, 2012, the General Assembly of the computing, technology and consulting company, Atos, agreed to a change into a European Company (SE). On December 14, the Special Negotiating Body (SNB) in charge of defining the modalities for employee participation in the future SE - a EU law prerequisite to register the company. It reached an agreement introducing a Works Council for Atos SE European Company as well as a participative committee in charge of exchanging with board members. This participation procedure is the compromise reached between the management, opposed to any form of employee participation in the company's decision-making structures, and the employee representatives who were asking for it.
