Portuguese employers and metalworkers' representatives signed a wage-review agreement. It sets minimum wage for the sector's workers at EUR 500 a months, when it only amounts to EUR 485 at national level. The agreement retroactively came into force on January 1, 2013. It was the subject of an extension decree which guarantees the application of the new scale across the sector, i.e. 50,000 workers and 1,000 businesses. (Ref. 130068)
