An internal petition has been going around Alcatel-Lucent's European sites to call out to European institutions about the situation in the sector. While the restructuring announced by the French/American parts manufacturer is going to hit Europe hard, they are asking for recognition from the telecom industry, which is suffering from international competition and divided between telephone companies and part manufacturers. They are also asking the European Commission to be less indulgent with unfair competition practices in other countries. (Ref. 130074)
