Representatives of the Unite Here hotel union and the management of Accor Canada finally reached a compromise after several years of conflict and the intervention of the French contact point for the application of the OECD's guidelines for multinational enterprises, who rendered a decision in December. Unite Here can now campaign in the two Novotel hotels in Ottawa and North York to invite the group's employees to become union members. In another hotel in Mississauga, the union was automatically recognized after the mediation procedure orchestrated by the Ontario Labor Relations Board. (Ref. 130086)
