The management, the IG Metall union and the central WC of the American/German carmaker confirmed, on Thursday afternoon, that they had reached an agreement about Opel's future. The Bochum site will stop producing cars around the end of 2016. In return, there won't be a wage increase at least until 2015. The general framework of the agreement will run until 2022. Many measures still need to be negotiated and detailed in the weeks to come. Opel management also announced that this agreement would be completed with a recovery/investment program for several billion euros. (Ref. 130145)
