Drawing from the claims already voiced by its two largest federations (Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg), the management of the IG-Metall called, on March 4, on the "regional collective bargaining committees" to request a wage increase up to 5.5% over 12 months for the 3.7 million employees working in the metal industry and electrical engineering. On March 15, the "Federal collective bargaining committee" should confirm this claim. Then, on March 19, the negotiations will start. The current collective agreement will expire on April 30.
