Yesterday on 25 July, Uber and AXA announced that they had signed a partnership agreement to boost the protection of freelance workers who use Uber technology in France. Under the agreement, the insurance company will provide its expertise as regards the protection of freelance workers, notably on coverage of medical expenses in the case of an accident, disability indemnities, and survivor benefits in case of death. Meanwhile Uber will offer new protection for free, enabling these independent workers to work flexibly with peace of mind. This new system of protection is scheduled for implementation in autumn, at which time more specific details on the arrangement will be provided.
