During the week of September 23 the professional press indicated that an agreement on health and safety and prevention had been concluded for interim employees at Manpower France. Dated June 2018 the agreement recalls that prevention is everyone’s business, that ‘user’ companies are in the front line in terms of working conditions of interim workers, and that employment agencies have their role to play in prevention. For Manpower France prevention also means taking care of the quality of life at work even if ‘some quality of life themes don’t apply to interim workers, because the working conditions are those of the user company.’ Manpower also wants to tackle issues such as gender equality, free speech, work-life balance, the right to disconnect, and combatting discrimination. To this end the company is trying to undertake awareness actions and training programs for permanent staff and customers. The agreement also intends for the implementation of the role of Head of Employment Mediator who will address complaints relating to discrimination as well as managing instruments related to monitoring and alerts in cases of sexual and sexist behavior, plus a dedicated interim workers hotline.
