On 21 June, Italian eyewear company Luxottica (merged with Essilor) and trade unions Filctem-Cgil, Femca-Cisl, and Uiltec-Uil signed a particularly innovative company agreement (here) that will cover the group’s 11,430 Italy-based employees. Among the agreement’s major innovative features are: a working time model that can be flexibly managed throughout the year and which will allow for the permanent recruitment of more than 1,000 workers currently on uncertain contracts, worker involvement in the company’s strategic decision making, and the establishment of a European WC that will interact and work with the current Essilor EWC.
