Jointly produced by O2’s LGBT+ employee network (Proud at O2) and the Stonewall pressure group staff can now access a toolkit aimed at defending the rights of the LGBTQ community. The transition toolkit was rolled out on May 17, International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia (IDAHOBIT), along with educational activities to mark the day. In their statement, O2 explains the toolkit includes “advice for managers on issues such as confidentiality and privacy, in addition to more practical guidance, such as the correct use of pronouns.” It also provides access to external information telephone-based services. The latest survey carried out in 2015 by the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights showed that ‘trans people face frequent infringements of their fundamental rights: discrimination, violence and harassment, all to a degree more intense than those suffered by other lesbian, gay or bisexual survey respondents.’
