In a statement on 18 June, IndustriALL Global focused on the recent unsuccessful UAW union implantation vote (c.f. article No. 11178) for which it holds the Volkswagen auto group and the anti-union movement across the southern US States responsible. Indeed the global union federation is accusing both the automaker and the anti-union movement as having once again deployed significant means to hinder a potential trade union victory. As a result IndustriALL Global Union stated that it was maintaining its January 2019 decision to suspend its global framework agreement with Volkswagen (c.f. article No. 10973). Chattanooga remains the only facility from the German automaker’s 122 to function without trade union representation.
