On 26 March 2019, Deutsche Post AG management and the services union Verdi together announced an agreement so that as of 01 July 2019, all the 13,000 employees at DHL Delivery GmbHs, Deutsche Post’s low-cost regional delivery subsidiary set up in 2015, will come under the ‘house’ collective agreement that currently covers all Deutsche Post AG staff. DHL Delivery GmbHs is divided into 46 different regional units across Germany. By coming under the ‘house’ agreement these workers will enjoy job security until 2022, and be guaranteed full work volumes until 2022 also. “The big mistake in setting up the two companies and dividing staff like that has now been corrected,” stated Verdi vice-president Andrea Kocsis in charge of the case. In addition to an increase in salary, DHL Delivery GmbHs staff will receive a 13th month pay, and have access to the company supplementary pension scheme.
