The American electronics group Jabil has announced the elimination of 350 out of 700 jobs at its Marcianise plant in Italy. Jabil has 120 plants and 200,000 employees worldwide. At the affected site, 160 employees have opted for voluntary departure or have been redeployed, while 190 others have been laid off as of May 25. The federation denounces this decision despite the fact that the Italian government has adopted a programme of support for companies "which prohibits dismissals until mid-August, in an attempt to save the economy in full emergency sanitary and economic caused by Covid-19.
