Discussions on amendments to the EWC agreement started between the central management of Alliance Healthcare and its European Works Council's limited committee during a meeting held in El Prat de Llobregat (near Barcelona) on 2 and 3 October 2019. The EWC is a mixed body chaired by the employer and governed by English law. It was established in 2007 and is therefore subject to the new EU Directive. It represents 17,000 employees in nine countries, including 6,000 in the United Kingdom and 3,600 in France.
